Zinedine Zidane says Real Madrid should have kept hold of Alvaro Morata

Tiemoue Bakayoko needs more time to develop at Chelsea than Davide Zappacosta.

That’s according to Blues manager Antonio Conte.

The France international has impressed since joining from Monaco this summer, with the 23-year-old netting his first Chelsea goal last night against Qarabag.

And Conte says Bakayoko is improving but he needs more time to develop compared to Zappacosta.

Conte explained: "To score is always important, above all when you play at home in front of your supporters in the first Champions League game. For a young player like him it was very important.

"Baka is improving his physical condition a lot.

"He is a strong player, a physical player, and he has to continue to improve and go better in our idea of football. He needs more time than Zappacosta."

Zinedine Zidane says Real Madrid should have kept hold of Alvaro Morata.

The La Liga champions sold the Spain international to Chelsea in a £70m deal this summer.

Morata, 24, impressed under Zidane last season despite getting limited game time at the Bernabeu.

And Zidane says Real may regret selling Morata this summer.

“Looking at our squad, we may be missing a No.9,” Zidane said.

“I would have liked Morata to stay but he wanted to play more first-team football elsewhere, which was his decision.

“We tried to get in another player, last year we had Morata and Mariano and now only [Borja] Mayoral is in the squad.

“Mayoral was not in the squad against Levante but that was my decision and he will be a part of our group on Wednesday - he is hungry.

“We’re happy to have Ronaldo back - physically he is very fit and mentally with all that has happened, with all the talk, he is in a good place.”

Conte will not rush Eden Hazard back into action after breaking his ankle this summer.

The Belgium winger was on the bench last night and came on as a substitute in the 58th minute.

And Blues chief Conte says Hazard, 26, needs time to get fit and regain his form at Stamford Bridge.

He said: "It’s too early to speak about this. We must have a bit of patience with him to give him the possibility to recover very well, to be totally fit. I think this is the right process for him.

"Don’t forget in the team there are two players, Pedro and Willian, who are playing very well.

"We must be pleased to see him in the team. Now we must be calm and do the best for the player and the team, otherwise we risk a bad injury and delaying the situation."
