Daley Blind believes Romelu Lukaku will help Man Utd win the Premier League

Lukaku has been superb for Manchester United since his mega-money move from Everton, scoring six goals in as many games.

The big Belgian will lead the line for the Red Devils again this Sunday in their Premier League clash against his former club at Old Trafford.

Blind has already won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League with United and is eager to secure league glory this season.

And the Dutchman believes his new team-mate Lukaku can fire Jose Mourinho’s men to the title.

Blind told Sky Sports: “[Lukaku is] very important [to our title hopes]. He is already important for us.

"But it's not just him, it's the team. We are competing at the top of the Premier League now and that is where we want to be.

"We have to be aware that we have to give it every time in every game to stay there - that is up to us.

"Winning the title is always the aim at Manchester United, you want to win trophies. Last year we win trophies, the year before we won trophies.

"In England, the Premier League is the thing I am missing, so maybe [we can win], that's what we fight for."

Daley Blind is looking forward to facing Wayne Rooney in Man Utd’s clash against Everton

United are also set to come up against their legendary former striker Wayne Rooney this weekend following his summer move back to Everton.

On the England star, Blind added: "He went to play more [at Everton] than he did [at United].

"I think this is the best thing for him, Everton is his home after his United home.

"He is still a great player and personality and I am lucky to have played with him. He will get a great reception, it has to be."
