That’s the verdict of footballer-turned-pundit Danny Murphy, who says the Gunners deploy too many foward-thinking talents at the same time.

Ozil has come in for plenty of flak over the past year for failing to hit top form at the Emirates.

And during that time the 28-year-old’s often featured alongside the likes of Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin.

Speaking on Sky Sports show The Debate, Murphy referred to the first two of that Arsenal quartet as unsuitable midfield partners for Ozil.

And he suggested players from Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham who’d be better for him to show off his attacking talents in front of.

Murphy said: "It's easier to produce in big games if you're in a good team.

"I've always said would Ozil be better playing ahead of [Nemanja] Matic and [N’Golo] Kante or [Mousa] Dembele and [Victor] Wanyama compared to Ramsey and Xhaka.

"It's not a criticism of Ramsey or Xhaka because they're attacking midfielders to me who are creative."

Arsenal will be looking to build on back-to-back wins against Bournemouth and Cologne when they face Chelsea on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger’s men came out on top in their past two official meetings with the Blues - the FA Cup final and Community Shield.
