The pundit also thinks Alexandre Lacazette would be in any combined XI from the two sides.

Chelsea welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League tomorrow afternoon.

“I know Merse (Paul Merson) went with (just) Sanchez, I’m not far off from agreeing with that,” Nicholas said on Sky Sports.

“I’m struggling, Lacazette, Morata’s just come into the team so I think there could be a competition for that.

“Lacazette’s record probably is a bit superior, that’s me at a stretch.

“I’d love to be able to say (Mesut) Ozil, (Aaron) Ramsey and a few others, but we don’t get enough from them in the big games.”

Nicholas believes Arsenal need to change their approach against teams in the top six in the Premier League.

“I look back at Man City away last season, Arsenal went one up, had the grip of the game and should have seen it off,” he added.

“Then they just dwindled away, so easy, just stepped aside, two mistakes, no communicational skills.

“I look back at (Eden) Hazard’s goal particularly from last season, how soft Arsenal were in midfield and then (Laurent) Koscielny at the back trying to defend?

“These keep popping up in these big games and when they go to Stamford Bridge it’s the same.

“I do think they know they can beat Chelsea but the problem is, then they turn up at the Bridge, they have this ‘do we squeeze? Do we not? Do we stand off? Do we take it easy for 20 minutes?’.

“They get caught in a trap and when they get the ball, they caused their own downfall.”

Arsenal have suffered two defeats already this season, losing to Stoke and Liverpool before the international break.
