Alvaro Morata has impressed at Chelsea

That’s according to former player turned pundit Stan Collymore who says the former Real Madrid man is the real deal.

The Blues coughed up around £75m from the La Liga champions.

Meanwhile Costa has spent the summer in self-imposed exile having been told he’s surplus to requirements.

Atletico Madrid have been heavily linked with Costa - but a move is yet to materialise.

Collymore, however, says Morata is a far better option than his maverick compatriot.

He told the The People: “Alvaro Morata is proving himself to be the Spanish Harry Kane - and Antonio Conte must be delighted.

“Morata is low maintenance and, having scored three in four Premier League games, there is no reason why he cannot hit 25 to 30, if he really finds his groove.

“How different to Diego Costa who, I always thought, was overrated and was obviously a right pain in the backside.

“Conte cannot have known what he was going to get from the Brazilian from one week to the next - which definitely won't be the case with Morata."

Morata has bagged three goals in four games this season.

He was deployed primarily from the bench last term at Real but still managed to score 15 goals in 26 games last term.
