Mourinho’s side have a 100 per cent record at home this season and are yet to concede a goal.
But the United boss isn’t happy with the atmosphere from the United faithful.
Writing in the programme ahead of the clash with Everton, Mourinho wrote: "I hope our noisy supporters are back from their holidays for today's match to give players backing they need and deserve."
Mourinho also wrote: “This will be a tough game as we’re up against a team that has spent over £140m during the course of the transfer window, so obviously we’re playing against a team that wants to secure a top four position this season.”
Mourinho had plenty to smile about early on in the clash with the Toffees.
Right-back Antonio Valencia fired home a stunning opener after just four minutes.
Gary Neville is expecting it to be a tough afternoon for Ronald Koeman's side.
The Sky Sports pundit said: "They’ve got a lot of experience and they’ll have to be resilient.
"It looks like United are getting Everton at the right time.
"They haven’t got a good record historically against United so it’s going to be very tough for them today."
United went on to win 4-0 with Valencia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial all on target.
