The Blues thumped Championship opponents Nottingham Forest 5-1 at Stamford Bridge last night.

Conte named a mixture of first-team stars, squad members and young talents in his side.

And they gelled together well to see off Forest.

Brazilian winger Kenedy, 21, who was in Chelsea’s bad books for his pre-season misdemeanour in China, opened the scoring.

Back-up striker Michy Batshuayi bagged a hat-trick to further stake his claim for more game time.

And 20-year-old attacker Charly Musonda also got on the scoresheet.

Chelsea were drawn at home to Ronald Koeman’s Everton in the fourth round, offering Conte’s men a sterner test.

But rather than reverting to his more recognised stars, the Chelsea boss is backing those who beat Forest to replicate last night’s performance in a month’s time.

“It’s a tough game,” Conte said on discovering Everton await Chelsea in the next round.

“We know Everton are one of the best teams in this league but we are ready to face the next round.

“We are a great club so every competition is important to us.

“We have to be competitive in every game and if the players answer like they did tonight I will continue to give opportunities.

“We must go game by game but when I have this type of answer I’m very happy.”

Conte had experience in his team against Forest, with Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard in the starting XI.

However, Musonda, Kenedy and Batshuayi all caught the eye and should feature against the Toffees in late October.

Chelsea head to Stoke on Saturday for a 3pm kick-off.
