The 25-year-old midfielder has just nine months left on his contract and talks on an extension have hit the wall.

The Sun on Sunday report that Arsenal bosses offered Wilshere fresh terms but he knocked back their proposal.

It is claimed Wilshere is still upset with Arsene Wenger for sending him out on loan last term.

Wilshere spent the 2016/17 campaign with Bournemouth but a broken leg brought the move to a premature end.

The academy graduate has barely figured this season, despite returning to fitness.

He made a cameo appearance in the Europa League win against Cologne and played the full 90 minutes of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster.

A source close to Wilshere told The Sun on Sunday: "Arsenal didn't want to loan him out again unless he signed a new contract but he didn't want to sign one.

"If Jack gets back into the Arsenal team on a regular basis and feels he is seriously part of the club's plans, there is still a chance he might stay.

"However, as things stand, he is still of the view that he will be leaving at the end of the season.

"But he will be giving it his all for the club and will remain professional."
