FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee is scheduled to meet today and tomorrow, with the Alli incident one of several on its agenda.

And it will decide his fate before Gareth Southgate names his latest England squad to face Slovenia and Lithuania tomorrow.

Alli is being investigated after making what he claimed was a joke gesture at team-mate Kyle Walker in the win over Slovakia at Wembley earlier this month.

The Tottenham star could miss the start of the 2018 World Cup if he is hit with a lengthy ban, and could also be fined.

A FIFA spokesperson said: “We can confirm that this case will be on the agenda of the Disciplinary Committee which is scheduled to meet on 27/28 September.”

The Football Association have provided FIFA with video evidence suggesting Alli’s gesture was aimed at Walker.

And both Alli and his former Tottenham team-mate are also understood to have made statements as part of his defence.
