Barcelona are plotting a fresh approach for Liverpool Philippe Coutinho.

Brazilian news outlet UOL say the Catalans will resume their chase for the Reds midfielder next July.

Barca tried to sign Coutinho throughout the last transfer window and haven’t given up hope of landing him yet.

And it is said they have already informed the 25-year-old’s agents about their plans for next summer.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is not far behind Manuel Neuer in terms of ability, Peter Schmeichel believes.

Schmeichel told Sky Sports: “I agree that the goalkeeping situation is very confusing.

“[Jurgen Klopp] brought Karius in - who comes in with a reputation of being very very close in quality to Neuer, he’s just behind him - no one can beat Neuer but this guy is just behind him.

“He plays a few games doesn’t play well and he has to go back to [Simon] Mignolet, who is actually playing okay.”

Liverpool’s Premier League clash away to Arsenal could be held on Christmas Eve at 4pm.

That’s according to The Telegraph who claim the blockbuster match could be rearranged to become only the second ‘Super Sunday’ fixture ever staged on December 24.

It is said that Sky Sports will announce next month that at least one game will be moved from the current December 23 fixture list.

And Arsenal v Liverpool at the Emirates is the stand out match to the Sunday.
