Jose Mourinho pointed out Liverpool's longer break than Manchester United's this week

The Reds Devils saw off CSKA Moscow in Russia tonight 4-1.

Meanwhile, Liverpool drew 1-1 away to Spartak Moscow last night.

Prior to the upcoming international break, both clubs play in the Premier League this weekend.

However, United are set to host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday (3pm).

Rivals Liverpool, though, go to Newcastle on Sunday (4.30pm), giving them two days more rest.

As a result, Mourinho did not mind seeing his side drop off in the closing stages tonight.

CSKA bagged a late consolation but the job was already done by United.

Mourinho is set to rest his players ahead of the weekend.

"The reaction by the home team with the normal pride to try to score and have a different result and we just relaxed a little bit," Mourinho said.

"We had a couple of good chances but I think it’s normal and we have a game on Saturday.

“Liverpool are luckier than us, they play Tuesday-Sunday, we have to play Wednesday and Saturday three o'clock.

“I think normal a little bit of relaxation."

United will fly back to Manchester overnight and prepare quickly for their game against the Premier League’s bottom side.

Mourinho named a strong line-up in Russia, with Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Henrik Mkhitaryan all getting on the scoresheet.

Should they recover quickly, United’s star men are all expected to start still in less than three days’ time.
