Man Utd striker Anthony Martial has been overlooked by France

Paul Pogba is also not in the squad as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

Martial has five goals and five assists in eight appearances in all competitions so far this season for United.

The Frenchman impressed last night in the Champions League against CSKA Moscow before limping off with a thigh injury.

And Jose Mourinho was happy with Martial’s performance in the 4-1 victory.

“I think the game also adapted to his qualities,” he told BT Sport.

“The way we played adapted to his qualities too, so he had lots of freedom and lots of support and quality around him too and I am happy.

“A goal is always important even on a penalty but his contribution was very good.

“A pity he couldn’t play for 90 minutes because I was ready let him play the whole game.

“We start so strong, I think we surprised them with our attitude and we killed the game.

“They didn’t look as good as they are because of us.”

Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, Arsenal duo Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny and Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante are all included in the squad.

France play Bulgaria and Belarus in World Cup qualifiers during the upcoming international break.
