That is the verdict of pundit and former Gunners forward Kevin Campbell.

Wilshere has been impressing in recent weeks, as he steps up his return to the Arsenal first-team fold following a string of injuries.

He spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, where he also shone, before returning to London after suffering a hairline crack of his left fibula.

The 25-year-old made his debut for the Arsene Wenger's outfit nine years ago but is now at a crossroads in his career.

And when asked whether the next 12-18 months were make or break for Wilshere at the Emirates, Campbell told ITV: "Of course it is.

"Everyone wants Wilshere to have a long run [in the team].

"He needs to get his health and he needs to get games under his belt.

"But he's showing glimpses of the old Jack Wilshere.

"That's what we want to come back.

"We want him playing well and buzzing."

Wilshere has drawn plaudits after his performances in the Europa League this season.

The European tournament is the only competition the midfielder has featured so far this campaign.

Speculation was rife over summer that Wilshere would move to West Ham or a side in the Turkish Super Lig.

But as he continues to search for match fitness, it would be no surprise to see him back in Wenger's first-team plans soon.
