That's the verdict of former Arsenal star Ian Wright, who offered his viewpoint on Match of the Day.

Batshuayi was named among the substitutes for Chelsea's Premier League showdown with Pep Guardiola's City at Stamford Bridge.

And when fellow hitman Alvaro Morata was forced off with a hamstring injury in the first half he'd have been hoping to be introduced as the Spaniard's replacement.

Conte decided to keep Batshuayi on the bench though, with Willian brought on for Morata and Eden Hazard played through the middle instead.

Wright has suggested Conte's surprise call could mean trouble is afoot for Bathuayi and Chelsea more broadly.

Wright told Match of the Day: "I think they've got more than enough quality, you can't be too concerned for Chelsea.

"But when you've got a striker [Batshuayi] on the bench, when you lose your striker [Morata], and you've got somebody on the bench who scored a goal against Atletico Madrid in the week, and he doesn't come on, you'd [Conte] rather put Hazard up top... I think that's worrying, not only for Batshuayi, but I think that's a bit worrying for Chelsea."

Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi had to wait until the second half to come on against Manchester City

Chelsea's 1-0 loss leaves them fourth, six points off City at the top of the table.

They'll be looking to bounce back from that result when they visit Crystal Palace on Saturday October 14.

Conte's men won 1-0 at Selhurst Park on the way to securing the Premier League title last season.
