That’s according to ex-Blues star Pat Nevin, who isn't concerned by Conte’s comments claiming he wants to return to Italy in the near future.

Conte, who won the Premier League in his debut year in England last season, has been frequently linked with leaving Stamford Bridge despite his success.

The Italian chief hit the headlines last week by admits he ‘will be home before long’ as he cast major doubts over his long-term future in west London.

Nevin says Conte’s wish could come true soon and he may call an abrupt end to his Chelsea tenure.

And while the Scot would like to see him stay, he insists the Blues will always be in good hands.

Pat Nevin insists Chelsea will cope without Antonio Conte

Nevin told Starsport: “You kind of let these comments wash over you now.

“When you’ve been following Chelsea as long as some of us have, you know they change manager very quickly but still have brilliant managers. They seem to make good choices.

“Although Conte is very popular and I’d love him, one hundred per cent, to stay for the next five years, you just sort of shrug your shoulders and accept that this is the business we are in.

“It might change, it might adapt and you might have to go with someone else.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte recently said he intends to return to Italy soon

“It would disappointing to some degree but Chelsea time and time again do that, change it and then keep on being successful.

“Personally I’d want him to stay because I enjoy learning from him and I like the guy, he’s entertaining.

“Now I wouldn’t worry about it until the end of this season and possibly even another season after that and in football that is an eternity.”

Chelsea lost 1-0 to Manchester City last weekend following a stunning winner from Blues flop Kevin De Bruyne.
