Thomas Meunier is a huge Manchester United fan and has been linked with the club in the past

The Belgian has been a transfer target for the Red Devils in the past.

He also declared his love for the club in an interview over the summer.

And with Jose Mourinho eyeing potential long-term replacements for Antonio Valencia, Meunier's unhappiness may put the wheels in motion.

Speaking to L'Equipe about whether he was disgruntled, the 26-year-old responded: "Yes, because I want to play every match, whether it’s against Gueugnon, Niort or Bayern Munich.

"I want to be on the pitch every time. I am in a team which is one of the top five in the world where the back-ups and the starters are about the same level."

Last season, Meunier battled with Spurs star Serge Aurier for the right-back position at PSG.

But after the Frenchman left for North London in the summer, Meunier was joined by Brazilian star Dani Alves.

And the former Barcelona man has kept Meunier out of the side in recent months.

"For me, Serge and Dani are equal," he added.

"Dani has experience and he is a leader on the pitch.

Thomas Meunier wanted Eden Hazard to join him at PSG in the summer

"It takes a bit of luck sometimes. I see the choices of the coach. I just have to be patient for now, because I’m not the priority.

"But I will do everything to complicate the choices as much as possible when I play.

"I do what I can and I usually play good matches, which is important for the technical staff because they know they can count on me, but they already knew that last season."

Just last month Meunier pleaded with countryman Eden Hazard to join him in France.
