The France international is said to have been targeted by the Gunners.

Having endured a mixed relationship with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, Arsene Wenger has looked to take advantage and identified Martial as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

However, the 21-year-old has impressed at the start of this season.

His difficult second campaign with the Red Devils was largely put down to troubles in his home life.

And according to the Manchester Evening News, Martial is now 'very content' at United.

Despite Arsenal's supposed desire to sign him next year, Martial is settled once again in Manchester, having moved back into the city centre with his partner.

United accept Martial's focus was disrupted last term by his domestic issues.

And the ex-Monaco star even considered a loan to Sevilla in January.

But Mourinho was not prepared to let him go, and Manchester United have subsequently reaped the rewards.

As a result, Arsenal may have to look elsewhere to fill the void which will be left by Sanchez.

The 28-year-old has no intention of extending his deal, which is set to expire at the end of the season.

United, meanwhile, have even been linked with Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, who could arrive for free next summer.
