That's the verdict of all-time Premier League top scorer Alan Shearer in the wake of the striker's impressive start to the season.

Lukaku, 24, has slammed in 10 goals in nine United appearances since August's UEFA Super Cup showdown with Real Madrid.

And that form's gone a long way to silencing the doubters he had when he completed his £75m summer move from Everton.

Shearer says he knew Lukaku would be a hit at United even before he'd played his first game for them.

Shearer told Coral: "Lukaku has been brilliant.

"And I expected him to be, because I knew going into that team he would have more chances. He's certainly had that, and he's put them away.

"He's looked big. He's looked strong. He's looked confident.

"He's missed one or two [chances], but that hasn't fazed him at all."

Lukaku will be hoping to get on the scoresheet once again when United visit Liverpool on Saturday (kick-off 12.30pm).

Jose Mourinho's men are second going into the Anfield clash, seven points clear of their arch-rivals.
