At least that's what Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini has suggested while speaking on Tutto Mercato Web Radio.

Ozil, 28, has entered the final 12 months of his current Arsenal deal and has so far shown no signs he will put pen to paper on a fresh agreement.

Reports have claimed Arsene Wenger is considering cashing-in on the Germany international when the transfer window reopens in the new year.

Inter has been touted as a potential destination with the Serie A giants now backed by the wealthy Suning Group.

Ceccarini doesn't think Ozil would fit in at the San Siro though.

Ceccarini told Tutto Mercato Web Radio: "I think in January a midfielder with attacking quality will come in.

"It's about whether Suning will have the chance to invest or not in January. If this is not the case then they will find an internal solution or a player with a low economic outlay again. Ramires would be an option.

"Ozil? He does not seem to me to have the characteristics suitable for [Luciano] Spalletti's game. He does not come back to help the midfield.

"This is certainly something Inter will do in January."

Ozil has also been linked with Manchester United where Jose Mourinho, his old Real Madrid boss, is in charge.

He could feature for Arsenal on Saturday when they travel to Watford (5.30pm).
