Mesut Ozil’s agent says the Arsenal star wants to stay in England amid Man Utd's interest

The Arsenal superstar is still stalling on signing a new contract in north London following months of talks.

The German maestro will see his current terms expire at the end of the season and the Gunners are yet to reach a breakthrough with their negotiations.

Manchester United and Inter Milan are being heavily linked with the 28-year-old and it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave the Emirates next summer.

Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut says his client is looking to stay in England no matter what happens regarding his future at Arsenal.

But Sogut also insists talks with the Gunners are progressing.

Sogut said: "Ozil wants to play another two-three years in the Premier League.

"Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well."

Ozil is after a major bump his in wages.

The ex-Real Madrid ace wants to earn upwards of £350,000-a-week with Arsenal unwilling to hand him such mammoth sums.

Ozil has not featured for the Gunners since their 2-0 win over West Brom on September 25 due to a knee injury.

He is expected to return for Arsene Wenger’s side when they take on Watford on Saturday.
