Lukaku has made a superb start to his United career following his mega-money move from Everton over the summer.

The big Belgian has netted seven goals in as many Premier League games this term, helping the Red Devils to sit joint-top of the table.

Mourinho insists United’s fine form is down to the whole team contributing and not just one man.

And the Special One says Lukaku is flourishing because he has players like Matic behind him.

Mourinho said: “One scores goals, another one is a midfield player, an anchor man.

"A player we always need to give us some more stability in our football.

"In this moment, we are a team with good stability and control of matches. I think Matic has been important for that.

“We are scoring our goals and, of course, our striker and our no.9 is a man with a very strong arrival at the club.”

United saw off hapless Crystal Palace 4-0 before the international break and are now gearing up for arguably the biggest game of the season so far.

The Red Devils travel to Anfield to take on old rivals Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime.

And Mourinho is relishing the chance to take his in-form team to Merseyside.

He added: "Do I like to go to Anfield? Yes, I love it. Do I like to play against Liverpool? Yes.

“I like amazing stadiums, the best opponents but the preparation is not different. It's just a match."
