That’s the verdict of former Uruguay striker Diego Forlan, who became a cult hero during his own two-year stint at Old Trafford.

Griezmann was United’s top target going into the summer transfer window with Jose Mourinho desperate to get him on-board.

But the Red Devils ended up buying Romelu Lukaku instead after the Frenchman opted to stick with Atletico when their transfer ban was upheld.

Recent reports have claimed Mourinho would like to bring Griezmann to England next year to complement Lukaku in attack.

And although he admits United are going from strength-to-strength, Forlan seems to think Griezmann could stay put.

Asked about Mourinho’s chances of getting Griezmann, Forlan told beIN SPORTS: "He’s a good player. He would be a good fit for every club.

"United are now getting better and better. They are doing really well in the Premier League.

"It’s difficult. He’s in a good club, a great city like Madrid. I don’t know.

"It would be, if he has an opportunity, a tough decision. But United is a big club as well, so I don’t know, it’s up to him."

Meanwhile, United will be looking to fire themselves back to the top of the Premier League when they face Liverpool today.

Mourinho’s men are level on points with early leaders Manchester City but sit second due to their inferior goal difference.
