The Egyptian winger is Liverpool’s top scorer this season but failed to convert as Manchester United held the Reds to a goalless draw today.

Salah was coming up against a former manager in Jose Mourinho and Henry thinks the former Chelsea player has all the attributes to be a sensation for Liverpool.

“I don't think it's about proving Mourinho anything,” he said.

“It’s about proving the Liverpool fans that you are this guy — that you can be a player like Coutinho.

“For me, he is special, he has something special. He will be a special player for Liverpool. I like the fact that he is direct — we don't have a lot of players like that in the game anymore.

“People will say sometimes that he needs four opportunities to score a goal. When he is able to finish all the opportunities he has then he will be more than lethal for this club.”

Salah has been in lethal form this season and enjoyed a successful international break, as he scored a brace to send Egypt to their first World Cup since 1990.

The draw moves Liverpool level on points with Chelsea and Arsenal, while United leapfrog rivals Manchester City at the top of the league.

Both sides return to action next week in the Champions League, as Liverpool travel to Maribor, while Mourinho’s side visit Benfica.
