Roy Keane couldn't help taking a swipe at Arsenal last night

That is the verdict of pundit and former Manchester United captain Roy Keane.

The Gunners have struggled for consistency so far this term and were thrashed by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at the start of campaign.

And Saturday's defeat to Watford threw their European credentials into question once again, as Arsene Wenger was lamented for his side's inability to see out games.

Rivals Tottenham, however, showed their recent improvement under Mauricio Pochettino by taking a well-earned point away from their clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

And former United star Keane believes Arsenal are struggling to keep up with their Premier League rivals.

"I think most teams in the Premier League are ahead of Arsenal," he said on ITV.

This prompted co-pundit and former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon to begrudgingly admit he agreed Spurs are now the better of the two North London outfits.

Keane continued: "Spurs now are rock solid, a really good team. They went to Real Madrid, they were very brave and showed a lot of courage.

"Their manager and players deserve great credit because this is a top Tottenham team now.

"They can be a threat in the Champions League, getting into the knock out stages and getting to a quarter-final maybe."

Arsenal sit sixth in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
