Mesut Ozil feels there is a campaign to undermine the remainder of his time at Arsenal

The playmaker has been the subject of transfer speculation due to the fact his contract expires at the end of the season.

Ozil has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Inter Milan and has told friends he wants to set the record straight.

Rumours suggesting the former Real Madrid man has been offered a new deal at Arsenal, has told his team-mates he wants to move to Old Trafford and has demanded £300,000-a-week are all untrue, according to The Sun.

A close friend of the star told the publication: "Mesut has not had any contract offer from Arsenal.

"There were talks about a modest pay rise last season but all those talks ended in March. There’s been nothing since then.

“At the time there was uncertainty over Arsene Wenger’s future so the conversations stopped.

“He has not been offered £300,000 a week. In fact, he has no offers on the table from Arsenal or any other club."

The German midfielder has been heavily linked with a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho.

The pair worked together at Madrid and with Ozil's Arsenal exit looking inevitable, it has been suggested the pair could be reunited at Old Trafford next season.

“Mesut is adamant he has never spoken to any player about going to Manchester United," the friend continued.

“He has no idea if United want him but he wants to stay at Arsenal. Look, he just bought a new house in London.

“Mesut had been renting but he decided to buy a house because he both expects and wants to stay."

Arsenal take on Everton at Goodison Park tomorrow, desperate for a first Premier League away win of the season.
