Koeman has had a dreadful start to the new season despite spending in excess of £150m on new recruits in the summer.

The Everton boss goes up against Arsenal at Goodison Park today under immense pressure, having failed to win in their last four games across all competitions.

And Redknapp believes Koeman, whose side can move two points behind Arsenal with a win, should be happy to host Arsene Wenger’s men.

“I think Ronald Koeman knows his position will become almost untenable if they lose today,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.

“I think for Arsenal if Arsene Wenger doesn’t win I don’t think a lot will be said.

“I think there will be the same questions, we won’t learn a great deal.

“If you were looking for one game or one top six side to play in terms of ‘can I get a result to keep my job?’ you want to play Arsenal.

“Right or wrong? Spot on. That would be the game you’d want.

“Everton have got to make it all action, they’ve got to be aggressive, they’ve got to get back to the Everton side that Thierry (Henry) played against and Graeme (Souness) played against and so did I.

“Get in their face, make it really difficult for them.”
