Pep Guardiola’s side beat Burnley 3-0 in the Premier League yesterday to move five points clear at the top of the table - following neighbours Manchester United’s defeat away at Huddersfield.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring from 12 yards following a contentious decision from Roger East to give the home side a penalty when Bernardo Silva went down in the box - and the Argentine cooly converted to equal City’s all-time leading scorer Eric Brook on 177 goals.

Nicolas Otamendi then headed home in the 73rd minute to make it 2-0, before Leroy Sane got in on the act with a tidy finish to make it three.

And now City turn their attention to the Carabao Cup with the visit of Championship outfit Wolves on Tuesday.
