Wayne Rooney joined an extremely exclusive club on Monday evening as he scored his 200th Premier League goal.

Only Alan Shearer has scored more than Rooney, who hit the landmark with a sidefoot shot inside the area against Manchester City, with the ex-Newcastle striker a fair way out in front on 260.

Newcastle have been Rooney's favourite opponents in England, having scored 14 of his 200 goals against Shearer's old club. Aston Villa have felt the force of Rooney 13 times and his current employers, Everton, have had to endure their favourite sign scoring five times against them.

Manchester United are one of very few clubs that he hasn't scored against. Yet.

After breaking into the Everton first team in the 2002/03 season, Rooney went on to score six goals. In 2003/04 it was nine and then came that big money move to Manchester United, where he went on to beat Sir Bobby Charlton's record and become the Old Trafford club's all time top scorer.

The most he's ever scored in one season is 27, done in the 2011/12 season, and his preferred stadium to hit the back of the net in, is (unsurprisingly) Old Trafford. 101 of his Premier League goals have been scored in the Theatre of Dreams, 11 at Goodison Park and eight have been at St James' Park - his third favourite hunting ground.

Rooney has scored six hat-tricks in total, doing so twice against Bolton (in different matches), and once each against Portsmouth, Hull, West Ham and Arsenal - the latter of which he also happened to score his very first Premier League goal against.

The majority of his goals have been with the right foot, 173 of them have been scored inside the penalty area, seven from direct free-kicks and only 20 from the penalty spot.
