Cuco Martina has been taken to hospital and will be observed overnight after landing awkwardly during the first half of Everton’s game in Lyon. 

The defender, 28, was stretchered off the pitch in the 43rd minute having been injured in an aerial challenge with Maxwel Cornet.  

"He was concussed and complaining of pains down his neck," said David Unsworth. "He’s gone straight to hospital for x-rays and scans. We wish him all the best."
