Crystal Palace’s Hodgson 'quiet' on Diafra Sakho link

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is keeping ‘quiet’ on talks regarding a move for Diafra Sakho from West Ham United.

The striker whose summer move to Ligue 1 side Rennes infamously collapsed on deadline day is understood to have grown frustrated at the Hammers. The 28-year-old has scored four goals in 17 appearances, starting just two of them, this season.

And Hodgson is believed to be looking in the way of Sakho, with first-choice Christian Benteke having a difficult spell in front of goal. However, the English tactician insisted on not giving updates on their pursuit of the former Metz striker.

"I'm not prepared to talk about any players. There is bound to be conflicting reports,” Hodgson told reporters.

"It would be very foolish of me to start commenting on anybody at the moment.

"We are doing it as best we can and as professionally as we can.

"It is better to keep quiet on the subject,” he concluded.
