Everton v Tottenham Hotspur betting: Spurs could be set for another slow start at Goodison Park

Everton and Spurs will be desperate for all three points in this clash following indifferent starts to the season, which sees both sides languishing in mid-table on four points after the three games before the international break.

The hosts, who have failed to beat their London opponents since December 2012, won their only league game at Goodison Park this season with a 1-0 victory over Stoke City on the opening weekend.

They will be boosted by the fact that top scorer Wayne Rooney has found the net 11 times in his last 16 matches against Spurs, but he has yet to play against them since his return to Merseyside.

SportPesa offers Rooney to strike first at 13/2 (7.50), or anytime at 43/20 (3.15), whilst Everton to win outright is 27/10 (3.70).

Tottenham, meanwhile, will be grateful that it is now September – a month in which they have won six games in a row – and Harry Kane may finally net his 100th club goal after a torrid August saw his horrible run in the month continue.

The England striker has now gone 13 Premier League games in August without a goal, and currently sits on 99 Spurs goals, but he did find the net when his side last won away at Everton in a 1-0 triumph over two years ago.

Spurs to emerge victorious is at 11/10 (2.10), whilst a draw, a result which comprises three of the last four matches between these two teams, is 49/20 (3.45).

Kane, who scored twice for his country against Malta, can be backed at 3/1 (4.0) to open his scoring account for the season, with top scorer Dele Alli out at 23/4 (6.75) to net first and take his tally for the season to three.

The real value comes in the first half, though; Spurs are yet to score in the opening 45 minutes this season whilst both of Everton’s goals have come during that time, making the hosts to win the first half a good price at 3/1 (4.0) against a side still trying to click this campaign.

For those who want an outside shot, Everton to win the first half but Spurs to come back and win the match is out at 24/1 (25.0).
