‘We are a strong team’, says West Bromwich Albion's Allan Nyom

West Bromwich Albion defender Allan Nyom has defended his teammates and has said they are ‘a strong team’ following a recent string of poor performances in the league.

Tony Pulis’ side won their opening two games of the season but have fallen into a mini-slump, drawing four times and losing thrice in the nine games played so far.

And this seven-game winless run has seen the Hawthorn Stadium outfit drop to 13th on the log with just two points ahead of 18th placed Everton.

But the Cameroon international insists the whole team is not alarmed by their form and has backed he and his teammates to break out of their slump, saying ‘the spirit is strong’ within the Baggies camp and they will turn around their performances in the league.

“The spirit is strong, we are a strong team and everyone knows what they need to do. We need to keep fighting,” Nyom told the Birmingham Mail.

“We have been very close to winning, sometimes we get draws, [at Southampton] we lost but we’re going to carry on and keep working very hard in the training session to get the next three points.

“Everything is very tight, if you win two games you go straight back up the table. We’re going to carry on and try and win as many as possible.

“We are training very hard, and we are working on finishing in every session. We do special work for everyone, including the strikers. The goals are going to come, just be patient,” he concluded.
