Leicester City midfielder has praised his side’s spirit following their 2-2 draw against Stoke City in Saturday’s English Premier League encounter.
The Foxes got their noses in front courtesy Vincente Iborra in the 33rd minute but were pegged back by Xherdan Shaqiri’s leveler for the hosts six minutes later.
Algeria international Riyad Mahrez restored the lead for the King Power Stadium outfit in the 60thh minute but Peter Crouch’s headed goal 17 minutes from time ensured the game finished level pegging.
And the Nigeria international has commended his side’s fighting spirit and added ‘everybody is close to being back to their best’
“We tried to pick up the three points,” Ndidi told LCFC TV.
“We had so many chances and if we had converted them it would have been easier.
“We had chances to win the game when we were 2-1 up. At least we got a point, so it’s okay.
“We don’t have to do a lot of thinking about how we could have won the game. A point against a team like Stoke is okay.
“We tried to fight back after Stoke scored and as you can see in the game, it was a good spirit from the team. Everybody is close to being back to their best.”
And after the appointment of Claude Puel which has seen Leicester pick up four points in two games under his care, Ndidi believes he and his teammates are already adapting to the French tactician’s philosophy.
“We’re just trying to go with the momentum,” he added.
We’ll always try to do our best in the next game.
“From the first day, he [Puel] has been trying to implement his ideas and philosophy. So we’re just trying to get used to it.”
