Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 at The Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening, in a contender for the game of the season.

It took United just four-minutes to open the scoring, as Antonio Valencia cut out Laurent Koscielny’s pass to Sead Kolasinac and raced through to score, after exchanging passes with Paul Pogba.

A few minutes later and United were two goals to the good. This time Shkodran Mustafi was punished for taking too much time on the ball, as Romelu Lukaku played in Anthony Martial.

The superb Martial deftly flicked Lingard into some space, and the England international made no mistake with a confident finish past Petr Cech.

Arsenal had numerous chances to pull a goal back only to be repeatedly denied by David de Gea, who had one of the best games of his United career. However he was eventually beaten from close-range by Alexandre Lacazette, after some wonderful build-up play from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey.

But Arsenal’s hopes were dashed when Lingard scored his second and United’s third a quarter of an hour later.

And, to add to the drama, Pogba was sent-off late on for an ugly challenge on Hector Bellerin.
