Arsenal v Bournemouth - story of the match

Danny Welbeck, right, netted a brace against Bournemouth

Danny Welbeck struck twice as Arsenal eased to victory over Bournemouth to get their Premier League campaign back on track.

The Gunners had lost to Stoke and Liverpool heading into the international break but they were never in trouble as Welbeck inspired them to a 3-0 win against a poor Cherries side.

Welbeck opened the scoring early on with a mistimed header before setting up Alexandre Lacazette and then completing his brace with a well-taken second.

Man of the Match - Danny Welbeck

The England international has often seen his finishing criticised but he struck twice here to get Arsenal's season back on track.

His first goal had a touch of fortune as he did not get much on it but he took his second with aplomb to top a superb performance which also included an assist for Lacazette's strike.

Moment of the Match -

Having only been named among the substitutes after a deadline day move to Manchester City failed to materialise, Alexis Sanchez was met with a mixed reception as he came on to replace Welbeck.

There were a few audible jeers aimed in the direction of the Chilean as he came on with 15 minutes remaining - something the 28-year-old will not be used to having been awarded the club's player of the season award for 2016/17 in the build-up to kick-off.

Data Point -

This was the first time Welbeck has scored more than once in a Premier League game since he netted twice for Manchester United in a 3-0 win at Aston Villa in December 2013.
