Former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has signed a one-year deal with Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.

The 36-year-old former Bulgaria international had been without a club since leaving Greek side PAOK Salonika last summer and joins the Blasters, who recently appointed former United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen as manager.

The club tweeted confirmation of Berbatov's signing on Wednesday, saying: "Golden touch, turns like a dream & a deadly finish. The Bulgarian Hitman is set to take ISL by storm."

There is sure to be at least one of the Dutchman's former charges at the Blasters next season after the club announced Wes Brown's signature last Tuesday.

Earlier this month former Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane joined reigning ISL champions Atletico de Kolkata, who are coached by former England striker Teddy Sheringham.

Former United winger Steve Coppell will manage Jamshedpur FC in the ISL this season.
