Summer signing Jonathan Walters is out of Burnley's Premier League trip to Tottenham through injury.

The Republic of Ireland international suffered an ankle problem during the first half of Wednesday night's 2-0 Carabao Cup second-round victory at Blackburn and will not feature at Wembley, while midfielder Jeff Hendrick is a doubt with a thigh strain.

However, record signing Chris Wood, who joined the club in a £15million switch from Leeds earlier this week, could be handed his first start after replacing Walters at Ewood Park, where manager Sean Dyche made eight changes.

Provisional squad: Heaton, Legzdins, Pope, Lowton, Long, Mee, Taylor, Ward, Darikwa, Tarkowski, Defour, Brady, Ulvestad, Hendrick, Cork, Westwood, Arfield, Gudmundsson, Vokes, Agyei, Barnes, Wood.
