Ireland's Kieran O'Hara has been added to Manchester United's Champions League squad following their 2-0 win over Basel on Tuesday night.

Goalkeeper O'Hara and Demetri Mitchell were both drafted in to United's B List by Jose Mourinho, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Every club participating in the group stages of the Champions League must submit two lists with the B List reserved for players born on, or after, January 1 1995.

Earlier this month, Dubliner Conor Masterson was drafted into Liverpool's Champions League squad.

Mourinho has taken a shine to 20-year-old O'Hara, choosing him to provide back-up for David De Gea and Sergio Romero in the Europa League Cup tie against FC Rostov last season.

O'Hara spent both legs ensconced with the first-team and he absorbed everything possible from working under Mourinho and around De Gea.

"I want to be the third-choice 'keeper this season but wouldn't rule out pushing for the No 1 spot," the Stretford-born stopper told Independent.ie earlier this year.

"I know that would be difficult because Manchester United are a massive club but if I keep developing and the opportunity comes, then I don't see why not.

"After spending time on loan last season at Morecambe, United didn't want me going away again and instead I've learned a lot from being around the first team. Working under the manager Jose Mourinho has been brilliant."
