Paul Pogba on Manchester United's newfound confidence and laughing at referee Jonathan Moss

Eric Bailly gave United the lead in the first half before three late goals from Romelu Lukaku, Pogba and Anthony Martial secured the win.

The Red Devils also triumphed 4-0 last week in their opening Premier League game against West Ham at Old Trafford and will fancy their chances of mounting a serious title challenge.

Jose Mourinho's side finished sixth last season in the Premier League - as well as winning the EFL Cup and the Europa League - but Pogba claims United have every chance of improving on that this term.

The France midfielder told Sky Sports: "We are more confident, we know each other more. Now is the second year.

"The first year we had the first year of the manager (Mourinho) and he changed the team. It's not easy but we still won trophies.

"This season we are more confident, everybody knows each other and we work for each other and it's easier for us.

"We had a very good result, 4-0 again, a clean sheet. We hope we can carry on like this."

Pogba could have been sent off as, with the game goalless in the first half, he escaped a second yellow for a similar foul to one which he had already been booked for.

"The second one, no. The first one is a yellow card," added Pogba. "The second one I wasn't worried, for me it wasn't a foul.

"After he (referee Jon Moss) came to talk to me and I laughed at him. I said 'are you serious?'. It's OK, he didn't give me the red card, it would have been very hard for us."

Swansea forward Jordan Ayew and United defender Bailly both hit the bar in the opening 10 minutes but the Red Devils were ahead just before half-time.

Bailly this time benefited from a rebound off the crossbar after Pogba's header was brilliantly saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

United controlled large parts of the game and were eventually rewarded with three goals in four minutes as the game drew to a close.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan was involved in the first two, slipping in Lukaku after 80 minutes before Pogba added a third with a deft chip over Fabianski moments later.

Martial then rounded off the scoring after a swift counter-attack in the 84th minute to complete another resounding victory for Mourinho's men.

Mkhitaryan said: "It was a tough game, especially in the first half because they were playing with five defenders, but we were patient and we did what we had to do.

"The second half became much easier because they were playing with four defenders so we had more spaces to create behind the defensive line.

"Now we have a little bit of luck that we're scoring the chances we're creating. We've started very well, but we have to keep doing the same."
