PSG say Ancelotti has yet to decide on future, promoting Mourinho speculation

Former Paris St Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti

COACH Carlo Ancelotti is yet to make a decision on his future at Paris St Germain according to the club's sporting director Leonardo.

Ancelotti's future at the Parc des Princes has been the focus of speculation for a large part of the season, with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho heavily linked.

Ancelotti is on the brink of guiding the big-spending capital club to their first domestic title in 19 years, with a nine-point gap over closest rivals Marseille.

The 53-year-old also helped them to the quarter-finals of the Champions League but could yet move on in the summer.

Leonardo revealed the club was hopeful Ancelotti would remain but said the decision rested with the Italian.

"Ancelotti? We hope he stays and his future is in his hands," he told Sky Italia.

"It's up to him to decide if he wants to stay here or not."

Two men who would appear to be going nowhere in the summer are Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Ibrahimovic has been linked with a return to Italian champions Juventus - speculation Leonardo has rubbished.

"Ibrahimovic and Lavezzi will also stay at PSG, 100 per cent. They will definitely stay here because they are a big part of the future of PSG," he said.

"Ibra will stay here, and Lavezzi will stay here. These things are very clear, therefore there's no problem.

"I believe PSG have been very strong in the transfer market in the last few years so it's normal that people talk about what happens here."

PSG's riches have meant they have become linked with the most sought-after players in the world, with Napoli frontman Edinson Cavani the latest player apparently on their radar.

"There has not been any contact with Cavani," Leonardo said.

"Today I'm not thinking about the transfer market, we have to finish the season. We are in a privileged position but we have to see it through.

"There are still five games to go and we are nine points ahead and so that's our priority. I repeat, there is nothing between Cavani and us, there has not been any contact."
