Slaven Bilic cut a hugely frustrated figure as he reflected on West Ham United's capitulation at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The Hammers were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester United to the chagrin of Bilic, who admitted after the game that his side got exactly what they deserved from the match - absolutely nothing.

"It's very hard to find positives when you lose 4-0, but we have to get up and get ready for the next game," he told the assembled media. "We knew they had a strong side, but I expected us to do much better than we did.

"They were much the better side in every aspect of the game. They were better in the air, they were better on the floor and better in 50-50 challenges.

"We were much slower than them. They had pace up front and the quality, and we didn't want to get exposed in one-on-one situations, because in those situations, individually they can make a difference."

Bilic was particularly disappointed with the hosts' second goal, which came via the head of West Ham's nemesis Romelu Lukaku whilst markers Winston Reid and Arthur Masuaku barely made a challenge.

"We know that they have a threat on set-plays," he added. "They have four or five really tall players who are good in the box and that's why we practised set-pieces for three days in a row.

"We looked good, but if you give players like Lukaku so much time and are not close to them, you can't expect better."
