Awful first half , truly awful . Made up Jürgen realized quickly it was only gona get worse and got Coutinho and Firminho on.
Not convinced by all the guff about great saves by Mignolet. First one was just hit straight at him the other is a poor finish rhat hits his knee , not sure he knew anything about either of them . Still , at least we had some luck .

Coutinho looks like he's coming into form at the right time for us and Bobbys goal was a beauty. TAA did well and Origi proved why he needs to go.

Have to hold my hand up and say I was wrong, and Jürgen was limited with selection. Under the circumstances I'm just glad the three subs were able to get on at all.
That makes it an even more impressive win.
As for the youngsters, no shame they didn't turn it on against the physical attention of how Stoke play.
      They will improve no doubt.
That doesn't mean I'm ever confident of playing sides from the bottom half of the table, but we are slowly coming to terms with it.
Haven't a clue what the expect from the remaining games, just hope citeh and mancs drop more points than us from here on in!

I thought Migs had a good game, there is a good keeper in there somewhere but unfortunately we don't see him often enough. The first half was weird but I applaud Klopp for trying something new, despite it not really working, although if Woodbourne had a slightly cooler head we could and probably should have got a goal in that first half. The defending for their goal was rubbish but other than that and Wijnaldum's almost assist I thought we were fairly solid at the back. The subs made a huge difference, although Sturridge didn't really do to much he gave their defence something new to think about and in combination with Couts and Bobby we really dominated them, as we should be doing to all these mid table teams.
Anyway onwards and upwards, hopefully we can get a few players back and fit before we face West Brom, they are playing pretty sh*t at the moment but they are exactly the kind of team we struggle against, if we can beat them then it will start to look pretty damned good for 4th place I think.

The flares changed the game because the fans couldn't see the ball? What is he on about? He's lucky he was allowed in the ground looking like that. He's a grown man yet he chose to colour his beard red & White :D

Clyne switched to left back.... Warning !
He couldn't neutralise the attack from the touchline on the approach to the goal.
Once Shakiri is on the run Clyne is out of the game, watch the replay.
Lovren wasn't quick enough to cover.
Walters !...Free header, five yards out..
      Piece o Piss.... 1-0 !

      Could've and should've, been avoided !

      Sorry Mark.. :(

The defenders were useless. Completely agree with that, but the 6 yard box is keepers and a ball 3 yards out should be claimed by the keeper.

Otherwise he had a top game and saved our bacon.

If he'd come out to cover Walters, the ball could have been slipped in the near post. Mignolet has no blame in their goal whatsoever and the two Stoke players deserve a lot of credit for their play.

Massive win that after the midweek draw, and considering the Injuries.

      Well in lads.

:scarf:4Pts from those last 2 fixtures not a bad return. Obviously most here would have assumed 3 home& 1 away would be the natural order for picking them up but hey who gives a fcuk how we get them.C'mon.

Big test at Stoke, and we got through it, mainly by clinical finishing from the few chances we had, and point blank saves from Migs when he had to. I don't know how much he knew about the saves themselves, but somehow they stayed out.

Prospects before ko were not promising, with various players out or on the bench. They looked bleak at half time, 1 goal down and not exactly peppering the opposition goal either. Then Migs made his first save and it was the turning point. Even then, we were struggling to create anything before the equaliser. Then we hit them twice in 2 minutes. Firmino's celebration was ill advised though, and his 5th booking of the season may be an automatic suspension for next week, when we need all hands on deck. After Migs second save, they seemed to throw the towel in and we saw it out comfortably enough. It's our first away win in 4 months and our first away win in a 3pm ko all season, taking just 5 points from 15.

Next week is another game where the sleeves need to be rolled up to face the set piece specialists. We have never beaten Pulis away from home in the league, and it'll be a huge effort to do so this time. Especially as it's just one day after the anniversary. Hopefully we'll survive the hacking, elbowing, long throw, and corner kick barrage and get out of there with a decent result to show for it.

Perhaps the idea is to switch it around so that rather than hang on at the end i.e. Bournemouth, we try to hang on at the start and bring on the lads to grab the goals?  ;)
Just came to read this because it was highlighted in another thread. Not sure it was Klopps plan but that did happen anyway.
