Every keeper looks amazing when we play against them.

Yeah that's what they say but in all honesty they are just doing what keepers do.

That's one of the things what pisses me off with Mignolet, he makes saves and their "world class" or he's an excellent shot stopper.

But a keeper does it against us and they're having the game of their life  :lmao:

He's sh*t mate. Find the corners and you score.

But why can't we do it today?

Looks like it's going to be a long slog again to get Top 4.

Might as well forget about winning any silverware with that defence.

Club and Klopp have fu**ed up big time over the defence.

With this defense, we surely can't win any major silverware.

So between this game and the one against them at Turf Moor at the start of last year:
      - We averaged about 75% possession
      - Had over 60 shots
      - Scored once
      - Conceded thrice
      - managed 1 point

That sums it up and there is a word for it: inefficient.

I disagree mate, it was our finishing that cost us today. 35 shots, 12 corners, 9 on target should have more than 1 goal to show for it.

Sturridge had 4 great chances, Trent with a volley near the end, Solanke one off the bar, Coutinho with god knows how many chances to put the right man in rather than shoot. Men over all over the place, it's just nerves and lack of composure that makes players not choose to pass and try to force it.

The anxiety of the crowd, their own personal anxiety too makes these players choose the wrong option but it has to stop because we could have had loads there in truth but the usual crowd will be "bus parkers, blah blah" when the chances were all there.

As for Trent, no idea what happened to his crosses today, guessing nerves and weight of expectation to be honest because he's shown he's far, far better than that.

Of course we are going to create chances mate. We always have created chances. Its the type of chances and the reason we concede off almost every shot we concede and miss almost every shot we take on.

We're shooting from range, through bodies, through volleys because we play against a defence and another bank of 4 protecting them.

When we concede a chance its usually a dead cert finish, when we make them its a pot shot or from a wide angle with bodies in front of us.

We have severe problems with teams that play low block and there is no point denying it. If teams stay in shape we are hoping rather than knowing we can break them down.

As waya the first goal is crucial but as always in these games we don't take tge early chances, we don't stay alert at the back and we ultimately huff and puff obviously 'dominating' the game but ultimately pissing in the wind.

There is still a lack of genuine finished product quality at the club, in fact you could argue that Klopp is the first manager we have had who hasn't managed to bring it in.

Burnley Players are very good at blocking, either it's a cross or a shot. I watched their previous games, and it was the same, they seems to be very good at getting their body right at the ball's projectile path.

Oh I agree with you that its the execution that is the issue rather than the tactics, but that also comes down to the manager and coaching, as I said do we EVER practice finishing because out lads are generally bloody useless at it, there skills levels are very poor. Oh and a plan B would be very very nice to have as well. Let me put it like this why is it teams like Chelsea and Citeh have no bloody  problems smashing teams like Burnley whilst we still do?

Exciting match really and great movement, same issues at the back, they are a bunch of strangers. While I could pick on rookies or whatever, it could be the making of them, we should have top class well known players in defense but we haven't. That last ball wasn't there plus Burnley were like a bunch of lemmings throwing themselves in front of everything and blocking it. I knew Coutinho would be like this, he overcompensates and it's for more than one reason, it's because he thinks he's the Brazilian wizard when he really isn't truthfully, he's a good player not great, he was great when he came in January with his shaggy head and through balls, I don't like players who think they are the team. Plus he was trying to prove oh look this is what you've still got and lastly I'll make it up to you fans honest. pissed me off so much.

Defending deep is always easier. We just don't have the creativity and ideas to break such a defense, City has for instance. When does Klopp realize he has to stop our game strategy? We have to play like Burnley: give the opponent the ball and look for fast breaks with direct drive to the goal. That is our strength anyway.

Well if its so easy why don't we do it and look to counter attack, we have the speed?

A striker who is rusty and has always liked to just 'hit the target', a brick wall in front of us we couldn't be arsed or be able to get around first, Firmino who is crap in that position, Salah who is wasteful, no real quality finisher in our team but they cost serious money so it is very understandable that when the chips are down none of our forwards can find the corners.

I don't think it has to do a lot with tactics as much it has to do with the quality of players that we have at our disposal who are unfortunately starters. Also, our decision making in the final third has been shocking.

If for each position we have a coutinho type player (i.e top class player) playing in any formation then the result would have been different.

We just lack quality and this is because we had another underwhelming transfer window where we really didn't address our problems by signing good players for the starting XI, especially the defense and midfield. The thing is, if we had snapped up Keita and VVD for this season, things would have been very different.

This lot have been to Chelsea, Spurs and now us and not been beaten so they're no mugs. We simply can't keep a clean sheet, therein lies the problem. We can't score 3,4 goals every week, no one can. Clean sheets are the key but we're simply not capable of them.

We will be in the mix for top four again but I suspect that's as good as it will get this season. Such a shame because another 2 quality additions to the squad in defensive areas might have seen us really push on.

If we're going to win number 19 (P1) we have to now go on a run like Chelsea last season, we can do it but every department G, D, M, and A have to really start putting in top class performances and earn these rock star wages.

It is going to be tough as we've never hauled back 5 points before in Prem on the 3 occasions we have been in contention.

Not all chances have the same weight. The volley at the end by Alexander-Arnold was off his weak foot and a chance that he had to take first time.

The only good chance that one might say was clear cut was Solanke at the death, but other than that, Burnley were comfortable letting Can, Milner shoot from range, and they did their best trying to show Coutinho left, and when he eventually had a chance to shoot, he was further back than ideal.

Movement of our players inside the opposition box is shocking, everyone stood still and waiting for the player in possession to walk the ball into goal, as if they want no part in scoring. Don't fecking look at the player in possession, run into space in the the box to open up the defence instead of ball watching. No coordination inside the opposition box. what did they do in training, perhaps I should ask Klopp. If I'm Klopp, tmro 7am sharp, shooting practice at Anfiled , yes Anfiield where home games will be played not any fancy training ground.

For long periods of the game I thought we were playing footpong in our own half.
