Though with Salah’s pace and trickery, we had a player who would score the odd goal, but have his fair share of assists.
What a revelation. If he keeps this up, all the top teams in Europe will be after him.
      Breathtaking, just breathtaking 😳

Just the one point behind that 'amazing' 13/14 season with Suarez at his peak eh.

We need a striker to come on and seal the game..............scene set for Sturridge Erm no, looks like Klopp sees Salah as greater scoring threat than Sturridge.

Attack not for the first time deliver the goods but the midfield of Can and Gini ffs how difficult is it passing it to a team mate, invited pressure when we should have been controlling the game.

Must admit the MotM vote is getting rather predictable.

Salah is simply sensational at the moment but because he'll, rightly get the lion's share of the praise I'd like to throw some light on his partners in crime. Thought all our front lads, Firmino, Mane and Solanke were absolutely superb, that first half some of the link up play was truly sublime.

Also thought Gini had a decent game in an overall top display from most of our lads, really enjoyed the moments of the match I could watch.

I really think Sturridge is so far down the list now that he's probably given up himself. We have Lallana back meaning that in times of need then we'll switch from Bobby, Salah, Solanke and even Mane up top before Studge imo, we just don't get when he's playing.

As for Can, he was one of the poor players for us, happy to see him leave and be replaced as I don't think that's too difficult, just the damn fee which obviously hurts on that one.

Mignolet keeps a clean sheet with a couple of good saves... and gets mocked for it.

      Typical.

Great. Tell me if you trust him when it matters? When the back 4 abandons him for the attack, do you trust him to keep us in the game?

I’m not doubting your support, but do you have full confidence he will make those saves when it matters 80-90% of the time?

Voted for Mane.  Yes two great goals from Salah - but when you are in such hot form, and you're rocking on to the pitch at 70 minutes then it's going to be significantly easier.

Gave it to Mane for the opener, the threat and the assist.

I think a shout out to AOO is due given the criticism he received from many of us when he first signed. Not much will be written about him but he played his part. Hard working, good movement and a couple of nicely delivered balls.

Sturridge is done, esp. after Solanke looked well today. I also think this game could make Klopp more willing to let Coutinho go for 150 Mio. € or some trade deal.

Same here I thought he is getting back to his best after the injury lay off.

Man City just scored in the 96th minute after 5 minutes was added on.

Glad we got the game wrapped up eventually. I can't believe how good Salah has been so far this season. I think that makes it 17 goals so far this season with 12 in the league.

Maybe not the right thread but I hate the way the PL has gone, Chelsea first did it and now City have taken it to another level. I've never wanted us to follow suit BUT I'm beginning to think I'll never see us win a league again and I'm only 38...

Anyway sorry for the negative thoughts fellas, great win tonight well done lads Salah is fast becoming our new Suarez what a player he is...

80% win record without him this season.

I won't mention it again in case Barcelona are reading.

I don't think neither of his goals was easy.
Voted for him MOM because he effectively changed the game when he came on. Before that it was looking like Stoke were going to equalize at some point late in the game.

Salah was always coming on mate. It wasn't a Sturridge or Salah moment.

Salah is also in superb form. 2nd to no player.

Was watching the game in the car on the way to work and damn near drove off the road after Salah's first. What a F***ing strike.

Comfortable enough win in the end but again our issues in our final third could've and probably should've cost us.

Solanke was great, AOC was good and Salah off the bench was deadly.

Solanke did a Sturridge today. Played the same way - but is hailed for it.

But when Sturridge plays like that, he is criticised.

It's not about the play - but the name of the player.

Salah and Mane are F***ing exceptional, but we already know that.

What pleased me most was the performances of Dom and Ox.  Dom looks a real talent, and Ox seems to really be settling into the team now.  Gomez another reason for optimism.

Disappointing -- Migs, Gini, and Can.  I like Gini and think he'd benefit from a better midfield partner.  Emre is useless and can F**k off to Juve (or anywhere else) tomorrow.

Good win.  Need to keep it going.

Play as a striker, off the shoulder of the defender, up front, in the box. Looking for the shot. All that.

Opposite of "the Firmino". Where one chases and harasses the ball around the forward half of the pitch.

Solanke was playing as a striker. Waiting to receive the ball. Hold up the ball. Get the ball into the path of his co-forwards, and look for the ball to strike at goal. That's what Sturridge does. He tends to wait for the ball to come, always making runs and looking for striking chances.

Solanke was more effective. And he's younger and I bet he'll be more willing to work off his b*tt than Sturridge who always looks a bit lazy out there.

How about a deal with the Saints: Sturridge for VVD in January? I'd offer this deal to them if I am Klopp.

      You on crack?

Solanke ran a lot and contributed quite a lot. That's not 'a Sturridge' nowadays
