Worried about broad, seems to have lost his action a bit, can't seem to get a consistent line and length

Yeah hes had this in the past where he loses his rhythm. Needs to go back to basics of line and length but also everything is going away from the left handers these days. Needs something else to his game other than that.

And as for his batting hes a number 11 these days. sh*t scared of the ball since having the ball hit him under the grill a few years back.

Games movi g on very quickly, west indies in with a great chance of winning this series being 18 behind but only the tail to knock over.

All eyes on Broad for the minute can he keep his eye on the ball? He's looking very skittish at the crease so far.

West Indies very much still in front of tge test for me at this stage.

Weather looks better tomorrow, England have to bat last on this.

I dont think batting last will be a huge issue because the game will be over by latest day 4.

Any runs now are really precious, if we can get that lead up past 50 then England will be ahead. Even game for now though imo.

It's not the pitch as much though it's the pressure of chasing, historically it's tough chasing in the 4th
If they bat well, with the weather supposedly around tomorrow then it could be tough for England

Rolling them for 123 and not taking that advantage isn't great

But I agree, anything over a 50 lead for England would be great having been 20 odd for 4 especially

The lead is there now but the pitch is looking flat, and here comea the sun like you say.

A bit more care from the batsman perhaps and they could have cashed in now.

Didn't like the innings from Moeen in particular he got too worried about batting with a real tail end, but he is a bit wasted at 8 meaning he gives his wixket away more often than he would like.

I don't mind Moeen at 8 really, he often does a really good job with the tail. But to be honest if we don't  sort out 2,3 and 5 there is a massive argument for him batting higher, but I'm not sure I'd go higher than 5 with him. He's a bit of a flasher, I don't think he often solves the problem of 30/3 if he opens or bats 3

We really need to find an opener though, I'm not sure 5 is an issue, there is Mo, Hales who has been batting 5 for Notts and probably more of a comfortable 5 at test level or even Ballance who I felt sorry for in the South Africa series. Been batting 4 for Yorkshire, batted 4 for the lions but thrown in at 3 again for England.

Well don't Jimmy son, we are lucky to have witnessed your career

Would pick stoneman as an opener and malan at 5 deserves a longer run but no 3 is a huge worry, maybe try hales at 3 and tell him to play a counter attacking role. Agree on ballance

Yeah I wouldn't drop Stoneman yet, he deserves a run and Malan has done ok.
It's just those faster bouncy pitches in Australia, going there with no real scores under their belts yet for an ashes tour...  :o good luck boys.

If Hales is picked it needs to be accepted he will nick off, especially at three against the new ball in Australia. He will get you a score but will fail.. If he's picked it needs to be with confidence in him to play his natural game.

I like the look of Stoneman. Doesn't get himself tied down like Robson/Lythe/Jennings before him and looks like he belongs even if his scores so far have been modest.

Worried about the Ashes because the Kookaburra is a pish ball and they play on some real boring flat decks.

Our batsman get out more easily than theirs and our bowlers rely on the swing and seem.

Not sure how the Aussies are doing though so who knows?

Our long batting line-up will ceryainly be needed just worry about where 20 wickets are coming from.

The aussies drew 1-1 in Bangladesh and to be honest their batting is a bit flimsy. Just feel Australia's greater pace will be the difference

Different ball game though isn't it on those spinning wickets in the sun continent. Bangladesh beat England confortably over there not so long ago I think.

Silly from Hales and ridiculous from Stokes.

The day before the ashes squad is announced too.

Can understand the Ballance recall but Vince? Awful last summer for England and unlike Ballance he hasn't had a great county season either. Shame Wood wasn't deemed fit enough to go, would have been a very handy player to have considering the conditions down there.

All in all, a pretty weak squad. Hard to know where the Aussies are at either though, they've been on the subcontinent a while now and I think their current series with India doesn't have any test matches in it.
