FORMER Blackburn Rovers and Burnley boss Owen Coyle has been appointed as manager of Scottish Premiership side Ross County.
Coyle has been out of work since parting company with Rovers in February having won only 11 of his 37 games in charge.
It is Coyle’s eighth job as a manager, having previously worked twice in his native Scotland with Falkirk and St Johnstone before spells with the Clarets, Bolton and Wigan, as well time in the MLS with Houston Dynamo before being handed the Ewood Park reins last summer.
Coyle joins the club, who sacked Jim McIntyre and his assistant Billy Dodds on Monday, on a two-year contract. He will be joined at the club by former Rovers assistant Sandy Stewart who has been named as Coyle’s number two.
Ross County are currently third bottom of the Scottish Premiership table, with four points from their opening seven games. Coyle’s first game in charge will be a trip to Kilmarnock on Saturday.
