JACK Cork is confident Burnley can keep their bright start to the season going as West Ham visit Turf Moor on Saturday, but he insists nobody inside the dressing room is getting carried away.

The midfielder is expecting a tough game against the Hammers, who haven't enjoyed the same buoyant start to the campaign as the Clarets as they languish down in 15th.

Slaven Bilic's side head to East Lancashire on the back of a win against Swansea, but Burnley have only been beaten once in seven league games and Cork is keen to keep that run going as he proclaims the Clarets a match for anyone in the top flight.

"It's going to be a tough game. I'm not sure how they are going to set up but it's going to be tough because they're an established Premier League team," the 28-year-old said.

"We're going to have to be ready for them coming out and trying to get a result after the last win they had against Swansea.

"It's been a great start which a lot of people wouldn't have seen coming and we've proved a lot of people wrong. We know the quality that we've got, we know the strength in depth that we've got and we know that we're a match for anyone in this league when we're on it.

"You don't want to get too carried away because there's always something around the corner but we're enjoying how it is at the minute. We're enjoying the form and hopefully we can make it last even longer."

Cork has made an immediate impact on the pitch on his return to Turf Moor, seven years after a loan spell lasting a season and a half.

And he believes the close knit nature of the squad under Sean Dyche is playing a big part in that success.

"It's probably one of the closest dressing rooms that I've been involved in," said the £8million summer arrival from Swansea City.

"It wasn't clicky at all when I came in, sometimes you find little groups, but everyone was really friendly, welcoming and they always have a laugh.

"They have that good mixture of working hard, training well and being competitive and then having a laugh when it's appropriate. They've been great and it's a great group to come in to.

"Everyone works hard for each other. You have to in this league. You need the quality but you also need the hard work and the fight and I think that we've got a good mixture of both.

"You definitely need that, you can tell that from previous games that the hard work is there but also the quality when we need it. We're hopefully proving that we can mix it with the best in this league.

"I'm really enjoying it, I'm loving it to be honest. It's good to be back here, see some old faces and meet new people. It's a good area to settle."
