OUR Clarets jury discuss the key issues at Turf Moor. This week it's the future of Dean Marney, would you give the midfielder a new contract?

MATT RIGGS

If we are to continue moving forward as a club as Sean Dyche suggests, then no, I wouldn't offer Dean Marney a new deal at the end of the season.

Marney could still do a job in the Championship, so I'm sure there will be clubs prepared to offer him a longer contract and more increased chance of playing than you'd imagine we would if he were to be offered a new deal here.

ANDREW GREENWOOD

I would but only as a backup squad player. It would also depend on how he’s recovered from injury as he’s yet to make an appearance since being fit again.

I know he’s a cult hero, but football is ruthless and maybe if we’re looking at moving to the next level, some of the old Championship winning side may need to move on.

It would be nice if we could get past 40 points and in a position to give him some time on the pitch, then we’ll have an idea if his future is here or elsewhere.

AMER STANSFIELD-MUSHTAQ

Dean Marney is a popular figure with the Clarets faithful, whether in the squad or out injured. I don't think that we have been blessed with many players that are genuine central midfielders especially since Joey Barton had to leave.

So unless we sign one or two players that play in that position in this transfer window, I would look to keep Marney beyond this season to keep him in the squad for work rate and for strength in depth.
