LFCTV’s new documentary ‘Liverpool’s Sound’ was premiered at Anfield on Thursday night as the club’s Red Neighbours programme welcomed a host of local organisations to the event.

The hour-long film, a tribute to the inimitable Anfield noise, charts the evolution of football chanting from the days when Kopites transferred their beloved Merseybeat from the top of the charts to the stadium terraces, right up to the present day.

Classics like Poor Scouser TommyEvery Other SaturdayFields of Anfield Road and Liverbird Upon My Chest are examined in detail.

To coincide with its release, Red Neighbours invited 50 people from the community to join ambassadors and contributors and enjoy the first showing on Thursday, with guests from Alsop High School, the League of Welldoers community group, Christ Church community group and military veterans in attendance.

The event formed part of Red Neighbours’ ‘memorable experiences’ month, with an entertaining Q&A following the conclusion of Liverpool’s Sound.
