Alexis Sanchez has returned to London.

The Arsenal forward posted confirmation of his arrival on Instagram after travelling to the capital via Paris.

Sanchez was accompanied by lawyer Ruben Inostroza Povea, a director at Chilean law firm RGC Abogados Consultores, and it is also believed that the 28-year-old agent Fernando Felicevich made the journey.

The travelling party travelled by Paris, where he collected his visa to return to the UK.

Sanchez, whose return to London had been delayed due to flu, is due back in training with Arsenal tomorrow but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger appears likely to arrange a meeting with his star player ahead of the return.

Asked by Standard Sport whether he would discuss Sanchez’s contract before he took to London Colney Wenger offered an evasive response, saying: “I cannot constantly talk about that.

“I’m meeting with all the players.”

Arsenal have offered Sanchez a deal worth up to £300,000-a-week to remain at the club after he entered the final 12 months of his contract but are yet to receive a response.

Wenger has insisted throughout the summer that Arsenal will not sell last season’s top scorer, even if that means losing Sanchez on a free next summer.

The Gunners, who are loath to strengthen a domestic rival, had been somewhat more open to selling Sanchez to a European side but have seen their options steadily dwindle throughout the summer.

Bayern Munich have refused to match Sanchez’s wage demands of around £350,000-a-week whilst it appears unlikely that Paris Saint-Germain will move for the Chile international as they prepare to complete a world record swoop for Barcelona forward Neymar.

Wenger has said on nine occasions during the summer that Sanchez will not leave, though he has made similar comments during off-seasons when Arsenal have sold the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri.
